Email server

All 123-reg dedicated servers come with following email server features as standard:

IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) accounts let you send and receive emails over the internet, in the same way as a Hotmail or GMail account. Your mail is stored on a dedicated email server, allowing you to view your emails from any internet connected PC.

POP3 (Post Office Protocol-version 3) accounts store your e-mail on our dedicated email servers providing you with instant access to them via your PC using a program such as Microsoft Outlook.

Email forwarding

If you would like messages sent to an address to be forwarded onto an existing external address or an existing mailbox you can set up email forwarding through your control panel.

For example, you could have messages sent to sales@yourdomain.co.uk and support@yourdomain.co.uk forwarded to the david@yourdomain.co.uk mailbox or forwarded onto your external email account such as david@gmail.com.

Auto-responders

An auto responder will send a standard text email to anyone who sends an email to a specified address at your domain. Applications for auto responders include sending confirmations of orders and letting clients know if you are out of the office.

Catch-all function

If an email sent to you has been misspelt or does not exist our catch-all function, all incoming emails of this type will go to an account you specify instead of bouncing back with an "unable to deliver" message.
