How do I administer a MySQL database?

This article applies to 123-reg Linux Shared Hosting accounts.

If you need to add, access or remove any tables, queries or data from the database that your website features run off i.e. blog or forum, you will need to administer your database.

If you wish to administer your MySQL database, you need to do this through phpMyAdmin which is installed by default within the 123-reg control panel - to use it to administer your database use the following steps:

Login to your 123-reg control panel.

Scroll down to the Web hosting section.

Select the relevant domain name from the drop down box and click on the Manage button.

Click on the MySQL Database link in the Web Tools section of your hosting control panel.

In the Manage Databases section press the Manage button to access phpMyAdmin.
