How do I connect to my MSSQL database?

This article applies to 123-reg Windows Shared Hosting accounts.

You can connect to your MSSQL database using the following script:

Inside your web.config file you must update the following lines with your database information.

<appSettings>

<add key="ConnectionString" value="Server=ATLAS-SQL-07; Database=testdatbase_556294_db1; User Id= usertest_0001; Password=??????" />

</appSettings>

You will need to change the following information in the above script to connect to your MSSQL database.

  • Server: Commonly known as database hostname or database server.
  • Database: Also known as database name or db name.
  • User Id: The user name given when you created the database via the 123-reg control panel.
  • Password: The password you set when you created the database via the 123-reg control panel.
