How do I setup a email account on my iPad?

This article will explain how you can setup your iPad with a 123-reg email address.

Go to Settings.

Go to Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Select Add Account.

Choose Other from the options.

Choose Add Mail Account.

Type your Name e.g John Smith.

Type your Email Address in the Address box i.e john@mydomain.com.

Type the Password for this email address.

Type a Description of your choice like john@mydomain.com.

Now you must decide whether you would like to use the POP3 or IMAP email protocol.

POP3 is the standard protocol for receiving email from a mail server and it allows you to download all of your emails to one location.

IMAP is best if you access your email from multiple locations, clients and devices as it doesn't require downloading of your email content. We recommend using IMAP settings on Windows Live because if anything were to happen to your computer or mobile device, you would still be able to access your emails.

Enter the information below into the relevant areas:

Incoming Mail Server

Host Name:

If you selected POP in step 10: pop.123-reg.co.uk

If you selected IMAP in step 10: imap.123-reg.co.uk

User Name: This should be your email address i.e john@mydomain.com

Password: This should be your password for this email address.

Outgoing Mail Server

Host Name: smtp.123-reg.co.uk

User Name: This should be your email address i.e john@mydomain.com

Password: This should be your password for this email address.

Please note: Please ensure that you enter your mailbox details in both the incoming and outgoing server fields in order to send and receive email on your client.

Click Save

If you receive an error stating "Cannot Connect Using SSL", select Yes to setup the account without SSL.

Click Continue to complete the setup.
