How do I set up Outlook Express? | POP3 or IMAP

This article will explain how to setup Microsoft Outlook Express with POP3 or IMAP

Start up Outlook Express. This can be found in your computer's Start menu.

From the menu, click Tools, then Accounts.

A pop-up window will appear, with four tabs - All, Mail, News and Directory Service. Click the Add button.

Click the Mail option.

The display name is the name that will appear in the From field every time you send an email. Type in your name, then click the Next button.

Type the email address you are configuring (e.g. me@mydomain.co.uk) then click the Next button.

Your incoming mail server type is POP3.

Your incoming mail server is: pop.123-reg.co.uk.

Your outgoing mail server is smtp.123-reg.co.uk.

Click the Next button.

Your Account Name is your mailbox username

Your Password is the mailbox password.

Click the Next button.

If you have forgotten your email login details click here to find out how to retrieve them.

Click Finish.

Please note: If you are using 123-reg's SMTP server to send outgoing email, SMTP authentication must be turned on. To do this, select the servers tab and under the Outgoing Mail Server section, select My server requires authentication.

If you are asked for a username and password, please use your mailbox username and password.
