How to set up Web Users in Plesk

This article will show you how to create Web Users in Plesk

Please note: this article was originally created for our previous generation of Virtual Private Servers running Plesk 10. As such, these instructions may not be relevant to our current generation of Virtual Private Servers.

Step 1 of 5

From your Plesk Panel, select Websites & Domains in the toolbar.

Select Websites & Domains

Step 2 of 5

Scroll down the page and select Web Users within the Advanced Operations section.

Select Web Users

Step 3 of 5

On the next page, click Add New Web User.

Click Add New Web User

Step 4 of 5

This will take you to a new page where you can enter details for your Web User. Simply enter the following into the provided fields:

  • Username: the name for your user
  • New password: the password for your user
  • Confirm password: repeat the password you entered above

You will also need to select which scripting languages to support for this user (i.e. PHP support, CGI support, etc). For the sake of simplicity, we recommend that you select all these options.

Once you’ve done this, click OK to continue.

Enter details

Step 5 of 5

Your Web User will now be created. Be sure to inform your user of their FTP account credentials so that they may publish their website.
