How do I edit users on a password protected directory?

This article will show you how to edit the users on a password protected directory on your Hosting package

By having certain areas of your hosting package’s associated website password protected, this mean that they can only be accessed if you have given the user specific access to the directory.

The below will show you how you can add and edit a user, as well as setting their password.

Start by accessing your Web Hosting dashboard.

On your dashboard, select the cPanel Admin button that appears above Settings.

Select User Manager under the Preferences section.

You will now be shown a list of users. Select Edit or Change Password for the user you wish to amend.

On the next page, make the necessary changes to your selected user and then click Save to confirm your changes.

Start by logging in to your legacy Control Panel. For details on how to do this, please read the following article: How do I access and manage my products?

From there, select Web Hosting or Premium Hosting within the ‘Manage active products’ section, depending on which product you wish to use.

Next, select Manage opposite the ‘(bought before XX/XX/XX)’ option.

This will show you an overview of your current hosting packages. Click Manage for the account you wish to use.

On the next page, select Manage for the domain you wish to update.

Click on the Password Protection link in the Web Tools section.

Enter the name of the directory that you have secured in the Edit Password Protection Users field and press the Retrieve Directory Information button.

Here you can delete a UsernameAdd a new Username or Change a Password.
