How do I add the Meta data to my website during the Website Passport ordering process?

This article applies to Website Passport.

So that your website can be verified against the Website Passport application you will need to place a small line of code into your website homepage. Details of this code will be sent to you by GlobalSign.

Upon completing the Globalsign Passport Control requirements for a Website Passport you will receive an email from our partner GlobalSign asking you to validate your application.

The email will include a link for you to follow.

  1. Click the link in the verification email from GlobalSign.
  2. From the linked page copy the line of HTML to your computer’s clipboard.
  3. Using a suitable text or HTML editor open up the index page of your website to which the Website Passport is to be linked.
  4. Paste the contents of the clipboard into the HEAD section (i.e, NOT the body) of that page.
  5. Save the changes to the page and upload it to your webhosting space as normal. The automated verification robots will check for its presence.

Please Note: This HTML will not affect your website in any way. To maintain verification you should leave this text within your page during the lifetime of the Passport.
