How do I verify my domain for Microsoft 365?

This article outlines the two ways with which you can verify your domain name for Microsoft 365 (formerly known as Office 365).

Before getting started, you’ll need to ensure your domain is pointed to the 123 Reg nameservers. Otherwise, you will not be able to configure the DNS zonefile.

If you haven’t already done so, you’ll need to activate your Microsoft 365 package. For more details on how to perform this, please read the following Support article: How do I activate my Microsoft 365 package?

Step 1 of 9

Start by logging in to your Microsoft Admin Centre using your details.

Step 2 of 9

From there, select Settings in the left-hand menu, followed by Domains.

Step 3 of 9

On the next page, click Add domain.

Step 4 of 9

Enter the domain you want to use as the basis for your email address into the provided field and click Next.

Step 5 of 9

Select the option Add a TXT record instead and click Next.

Step 6 of 9

From there, click I’ll add the DNS records myself and click Next.

Step 7 of 9

You’ll now see your unique DNS records, which you’ll need to add your domain name. If you’re not sure how to do this, please read the following articles:
