This article will show you how to back up your 123-reg.co.uk email mailbox, please select your email client below:
Click on the File tab
Select Open from the left hand menu.
Click on the Import option.
In the Import and Export Wizard screen select the option Export to a file and press the Next> button to continue.
On the Export to a File screen select the option Outlook Data File (.pst) and press the Next> button.
Select the folder you wish to back up from the list, when you are ready to continue press the Next> button.
Tip: To backup your entire mailbox select the option that contains all your mailbox folders.
Select the location you wish the backup to be placed and press the Finish button.
Enter a password if required and press the OK button.
If you created a password, enter the password into the Password: field and press the OK button to complete the process.
A file containing your mailbox backup data will now be saved to your chosen location.
Click on the File tab.
Select the Export email option.
Then select Email messages.
Select the format that you wish the email to be exported as and press the Next> button to continue.
Choose the location where the backup will be saved, to continue press the Next> button.
At this point you can select which folders you wish to backup, the default is All folders. Press the Next> button to continue.
To complete the export press the Finish button.
The backup will now be available in the location you saved it.
Select Mailbox from the toolbar and then New Mailbox... from the drop down menu.
In the New Mailbox window that appears select On My Mac in the Location field.
Give your mailbox a name and press the OK button to continue.
Your new mailbox will show in the mailbox listing.
Select the message/s that you wish to move over and right-click on the selection, to bring up the menu.
Then select the Copy To option to copy the message over and leave a copy in the original mailbox.
Please Note: If you select Copy To the original messages left in your mailbox still count against your mailbox quota.
Or you can select the Move To option to move the message to your backup mailbox on your local machine.
Tip: Repeat as needed to back up all required email.
Create a new folder locally by right-clicking your mouse over Local Folders and select New Folder from the drop down.
Give your new local folder a name and press the Create Folder button.
Select the messages you wish to backup and right-click on the selection, then select Copy To, Local Folders and then select the local mailbox you created.
