Title: How do I install WordPress?
Project: Web Hosting control panel
In this video, we will show you how you can install WordPress onto your web hosting package.
You’ll need to be logged into your 123-reg control panel to begin.
Once you’re logged in, scroll down to the Web Hosting section.
You can now select the hosting package you wish to install WordPress onto and then click on the Manage button.
Ok, so in your web hosting control panel, scroll down to the CGI Scripts section and click on the WordPress blog icon.
Here is where we will install your WordPress account.
If you wish to install WordPress in a separate folder, enter the name of the folder here.
If you wish to install WordPress to access it directly from your domain name then simply click on install now.
If you notice this error message then don’t worry, this just means you already have website files on your hosting package.
You can either choose to back-up and delete the files using your file manager, or simply create a new directory folder for your WordPress website.
Great, so now we can quickly run through the WordPress Installation set-up.
Start by clicking on the link with your full domain name in.
If you’ve just created a directory folder for your WordPress website, then select the link which contains the full URL and directory folder at the end, so this one.
If you’re asked by WordPress about single or multi installation, simply select the single blog installation.
Ok, now you’ll need to add in some information about your WordPress website.
Just here enter the Site Title, so basically the name of your website.
Use these boxes to create a username and password for logging into your WordPress account.
You will now need to enter in your email address and ticking this box here means that you wish for your website to be indexed on search engines such as Google.
Great, so once you’ve filled out this information you will see a message stating that your WordPress account has been installed.
Click the log in button to access your WordPress account.
You will just need to enter in the username and password you just set up, then click log in.
You will now see your WordPress dashboard and this is where you can begin creating and editing your website content.
So that’s it, we’ve seen how simple it is to install your WordPress website.
