Title: How do I create a website redirect?
In this video we’ll look at using your Web Hosting Control Panel to create a redirect for your website.
You may wish to create a redirect because you have multiple domain names but you want all of them to direct to one website.
Or another reason could be because you’ve changed your domain name and you want to make sure that users who type in your old domain name are directed to your new website.
Log into 123-reg control panel
Ok, to begin, log into your 123-reg Control Panel.
Scroll down to Web Hosting and use the drop-down menu to select your domain name.
Click on the manage button and this will open up your Web Hosting Control Panel.
In the Web Tools section, click on Website Redirect.
Create a Website redirect
In this box, just type in the domain name you wish to direct users away from.
And in here, simply type in the domain name for the website you wish to direct them to.
You can now select if you would like to set up a permanent or temporary redirect.
It’s best to go for a permanent redirect unless you plan to change your domain name again soon.
Don’t worry; a permanent redirect can be deleted if you change your mind, just click Delete Redirect.
Once you’ve selected the type of redirect, click the Create Redirect button.
Well that’s it; we’ve seen just how easy it is to create a website redirect.
Now your website visitors will be forwarded onto the website that you have selected for them to be directed to.
