Creating a website redirect in your hosting package

This article applies to 123-reg Shared Hosting accounts.

A website redirection is used when you have multiple domain names and you want them to all access the same website. Instead of hosting multiple versions of the same website, you can host it once attached to your primary domain name, and then redirect your other domain names to the Primary one.

To create a website redirection on your 123-reg hosting package, please do the following:

Login to your 123-reg control panel.

Scroll down to the Web Hosting section.

Select the relevant domain name from the drop down box and click on the Manage button.

Click on the Website Redirect option in the Web Tools section.

In the Website Redirect from field enter the directory that you wish to forward, if you wish to forward the entire website leave this field blank.

In the Website to Redirect to field enter where the site or directory will forward to. Select if the redirection is Permanent (301) or Temporary (307), then press the Create Redirect button to complete the Website Redirection.
