How do I upload a file to my Website Builder website?


Website Builder will allow you to load the following document types via the Files gallery uploader:

Documents:

'pdf', 'doc', 'docx', 'xls', 'xlsx', 'txt', 'ppt', 'pps', 'pptx'

Media:

'mp3', 'aac', 'ogg', 'wma', 'mp4', 'm4v', 'm4a', 'm4b', 'aiff', 'mov', 'wmv', 'flv', 'swf'

Archive:

'tar', 'gz','zip'


Please Note: The total file storage in Website Builder for files and images is limited to 2GB for a Starter package, 2GB for a Personal, 4GB for a Business and unlimited for a Business Mobile. The maximum file size you can upload is 10MB.

From the Widgets menu, drag and drop the file widget onto your page.

Your file will be accessible through a button, so simply name your button and then click on File to associate your chosen document with the button.

This will open the Uploaded Files panel. Click on the Upload New File button if you need to upload a new file.

Use the design tab to change the way your button looks on your page, including changing the text and button styling. 

If you want to delete a file, simply Navigate from the Content Tab and then click on Manage Files. You will see your uploaded files. Hover over the file you wish to delete and you will see a Red X. Click this to delete your file.

Before you start, please ensure that you have an active Dropbox account, or if not, have created a new one. Dropbox is a cloud based file storage platform designed to allow you access to your files from anywhere.

From the Media section of the Add Content dropdown menu, select the Dropbox widget and add it to the area of your page in which you wish it to display.

Click on the Dropbox widget to open the settings panel.

Click on the Choose from Dropbox button to select the file you want to offer for download. You can also change the mane of your button by altering the Button Text field.

This will open a pop up prompting you to login to your Dropbox account.

You will now be able to select the file you wish to display on your site.

You can now edit your Dropbox settings, for example, you can choose to display the file name, align the button and change the button text. When complete, click the Save button. 

As your file is stored in Dropbox, if you wish to delete the file you will have to do so via the dropbox client. You can remove the file from your page by simply deleting the file widget.

Login to your 123-reg control panel.

Scroll down to the Create your website section and click on the Website Builder icon.

Click on the Login button next to the relevant package.

From the Design view, click the Media Tab, which is located in the left hand pane in the Design window.

You will see a gallery of files available to you. You can add additional files (up to a total file size of 10Mb). To upload your new file click the + Add link.

From the pop-up file manager window locate and click the image you wish to upload. Click the Open button to select the image.

Your new file is now available for you to drag and drop from the file gallery into your website design.

You can customise the text that links to your file: in the design view main window select the file you wish to customise. Simply type in the text you wish to display.

To remove a file from Website Builder, click on the Media tab on the left hand side of the page. You will see a list of your files and images. Click on the X icon to delete the file or image you wish to remove.

Please note: If you simply delete the file from the File Gallery and you have already placed the file within your site, that file will remain viewable in those pages unless you remove it from those pages.
