Adding or importing subscribers is simple.
Start by logging into your account.
Now click on the Collect tab, and then select Lists.
It is from here you can create folders and lists for your subscribers. It is best to keep your subscribers well organised.
This will make it easier to keep track of where your subscribers have originated from and will help assist you when sending campaigns.
So, let’s create a new folder by clicking here.
We will give it a name, so main website will do for now.
Right lets add a list, click on Add list on the folder we just created.
We will name this one “new subscribers”, and then click ok.
Now you can add subscribers individually by clicking on the Subscribers link on the list you wish to add to.
Then click add subscribers and fill out the form.
This is great if you just need to add a customer or two but if you wish to add a few subscribers from your existing customer data, it is best to use the import option.
Click on the Subscribers link and then select import subscribers.
You can upload a csv file with all your subscribers in one go.
You will need to make sure the headers in your csv file match ours. You can download a working template by clicking this link here.
You will now need to choose whether to Update or Overwrite your existing subscriber’s information.
Updating will import your new subscribers and update your existing subscribers.
Overwriting will also import your new subscribers and update existing subscribers, but also means that any blank fields in the list you are uploading will delete existing subscriber data.
For example, if you have the same subscriber in both your list and your upload file.
But in the upload file the subscriber’s address is blank as it may have changed and the subscriber has not provided it. This means that you will have a blank field in your upload file.
This blank field will overwrite the existing address for this specific subscriber in your list.
Please note only individual subscriber fields can be overwritten. If you upload a list without your current subscribers in and choose to overwrite your current subscribers will not be affected.
Now click agree and upload.
If everything looks good then click on the continue button.
If you have a red highlighted box it means that a header you are trying to upload does not exist in our system yet.
Click on the drop down box and select from one of the pre-set headers or create your own by clicking on create a new profile subscriber field.
Choose a data type and then a field type if required. Fill out the information for your custom profile field. You will also be able to use this field later when creating data capture forms, which is handy.
Make sure to give the header a name that makes sense to the data you have collected from your subscribers.
When you are finished click the ok button, you can now click on continue to finish importing your subscribers.
Well that’s it you have now imported your subscribers.
You can now jump back to managing your lists or get started with creating an email campaign to send out to your subscribers.
