How do I administer postgreSQL within Plesk?

This article will explain how to administer PostgreSQL within Plesk.

Please note: You must have purchased Power pack and updated your product key before you can use PostgreSQL.

This article was originally created for our previous generation of Virtual Private Servers. As such, these instructions may not be relevant to our current generation of Virtual Private Servers.

Log in to your Plesk panel.

Click on the Tools & Settings option under Server Management.

Click on the Updates and Upgrades link under the Panel section.

Click on the Add Components link.

Tick the PostgreSQL server support option, then click on the Continue button to install the component.

Once installed, log in again to your Plesk panel and click on the Subscription link under the Hosting Services section.

Click on the Open in Control Panel option next to the subscription you wish to add a PostgreSQL database to.

Click on the Websites & Domains tab.

Click on the Databases option.

Now create a new database by clicking on the Add New Database button.

Make sure to select type as PostgreSQL Server and ensure the Database server is set to the default for PostgreSQL. When finished click the OK button.

Now click on the Add New Database User button to add a user.

Enter a User Name and Password, then click on the OK button.

You can now click on the Webadmin button to log in to the database editor.
