Updating your Website Builder DNS Settings
This article will show you how to update your domain’s DNS settings to work with your Website Builder website. This should only be applicable to users using custom DNS settings.
First, you need to create a web forwarding rule for your website. This starts by using the Basic DNS settings dropdown to point your domain at the 123 Reg forwarding system.
This is done by selecting the relevant domain from the dropdown menu in the 123 Reg control panel:
Then click on the Manage DNS button from the Manage Domain page within your 123 Reg control panel.
Select the Basic DNS tab:
Then use the Website Settings option to select 123-Reg Holding/Forwarding.
From the domain management page, click on the Web forwarding option:
Then you’ll be able to create your new forwarding rule. You want the domainname.com version of your domain to point to the www.domainname.com version of your domain.
Click on the edit button for the relevant domain:
You’ll then be able to put the target domain into the box provided. Remember to add the ‘www.’ Click Confirm to complete your changes.
Now we need to go back to the Manage DNS page:
From the advanced DNS tab, you now need to create a CNAME record that will point to: 123reg.multiscreensite.com – like this:
Your changes may take a couple of hours to propagate online.
