Changing your mySQL database password

This article applies to Linux Dedicated Servers.

This article explains how to reset a mySQL database password within the hosting control panel.

Login to your 123-reg control panel.

Scroll down to the Dedicated servers section, select the relevant domain name from the drop down box and click on the manage button.

Click on the Log in to server link.

Click on the Accounts tab.

Click on the edit link next to the desired account.

Click on the mySQL link.

Click on the Change mySQL Password link.

The resulting page contains text fields in which to enter the password you wish to configure to secure the database.

Enter your preferred password into both fields and click on the Change mySQL Password button.

Important: You must ensure when updating your mySQL password that any applications which access the database, such as a PHP script on your web site, have also been configured with the new password.
