We offer 2 methods for our customers to combat spam.

DNSBL Checks This works by doing a lookup on the incoming message for the mail server and checking its IP against a list of bad IP's. If for instance, the server in which the email has been sent from is listed at zen.spamhaus.org, then email is rejected.

When the email is rejected, a bounce message is sent to the senders email address with a URL which can request SpamHaus to remove the servers IP.

This method of filtering is not new and is used world over by many ISP's and Web hosting companies.

Please do not be alarmed and feel that we are deleting spam, as this method can drastically improve your service at Supanames; with up to 90% reduction in unsolicited email.

Spam Assassin This comes as standard on our Mid and Premier packages and will shortly be available on our Value Host and Pro packages for customers who have the 'Spam Protection' upgrade.

To enable this feature please login to your MyPANEL, once setup all mailboxes will be checked for spam. Email clients such as 'Thunderbird', actually check SpamAssassin headers and spam gets placed into your junk mailbox immediately.
