How do I upload my web site using Front Page via FTP?

This article will explain how to upload your website using Front Page via FTP.

Before you begin, you will need:

  • A 123-reg hosting package
  • Your FTP server/host name
  • Your FTP username
  • Your FTP password

Please note: Your FTP server name, username and password are listed in the email sent to you confirming your hosting package.


Please follow the below steps in order to publish your web site using Front Page via FTP.


First open your Front Page software.


Then click on File and then Open Site, find the appropriate web site then click on the OK button.


Click on File option from the menu bar.


Then click on the Publish Site option.


Within the Remote Web Site Properties box select the option for FTP.


In the field Remote Web site location enter your FTP Server address.


If you have a Windows Hosting account enter web/content in the FTP directory field , if you have a Linux Hosting account please leave this field blank.


Click the OK button


You will now be prompted for name and password, enter your FTP username and password then click on the OK button.


Click on the Publish Web Site button.

Please note: You will need to upload your web site files to the following folder dependent on your package;

  • Linux package: public_html
  • Windows package: web/content
