Title: How to set up my email with Thunderbird
This video will show you step by step how to set up your 123-reg mailbox within Thunderbird.
If you wish to set up thunderbird with another provider’s mailbox then simply find out and swap in their details when we mention ours.
Ok, let’s get started
Step one: Open up Mozilla Thunderbird and in the Local Folders section click on the Create a new account button.
Step two: Click on the Skip this and use my existing email button.
Step three: Enter your name, the email address you wish to add and the email address password. Then click on the Continue button.
Step four: Thunderbird will now try to configure your settings automatically. This will fail but don’t worry we need to enter the settings manually anyway.
Step five: You can choose to set up your email with POP3 or IMAP. To learn more about these two protocols check out this video here. We recommend that you use IMAP so let’s select that.
Step six: enter imap.123-reg.co.uk as the incoming server hostname. Set the port to 993, the SSL as SSL/TLS and Authentication as Normal password.
Step seven: enter smtp.123-reg.co.uk as the outgoing server hostname. Set the port to 465, the SSL as SSL/TLS and Authentication as Normal password.
Step eight: enter the email address you wish to add as the Username and then click on the Done button.
That’s it; if you check down your list of mailboxes, you will see your 123-reg mailbox has been added and will be able to start sending and receiving emails straight.
