How do I downgrade my Domain Protection plan?

This article will show you how to downgrade your Domain Protection plan.

If you want to move to a lower tier/less expensive Domain Protection plan, you can downgrade this service any time by following the steps below.

Step 1 of 9

Start by logging in to your 123 Reg Control Panel.

Step 2 of 9

Next, select Manage All opposite Domains within the ‘All Products and Services’ section.

Step 3 of 9

You will now see a complete list of your purchased domain names. Select which one(s) you wish to downgrade from the provided list by clicking the checkbox next to them.

If you can’t find your domain in this list, you may be able to find it on the Domain Overview page within our legacy Control Panel. For more details on this, please read the following article: How do I access and manage my products?

Step 4 of 9

If you’re using our current Control Panel, click Protection Plans in the bar that appears below, followed by Downgrade Protection Plans. If you can’t see this option, click More instead and you will find it within the menu that appears.

If you’re using our legacy Control Panel, click Domain Ownership Protection within the Domain Basics section.

Step 5 of 9

Choose which plan you want to downgrade each domain to. If any of your domains are on our Full Protection plan, your Domain Protection plan will be removed.

Step 6 of 9

From there, click Confirm Downgrade.

Step 7 of 9

Next, click Continue & Verify.

Step 8 of 9

You will now need to verify your identity. If you’ve enabled 2SV on your account, a unique code will be sent to your preferred device (or you can use your authenticator app/security key). If not, you will be sent a one-time password instead.

Enter your code into the provided field and click Verify.

Step 9 of 9

After a few moments, you will see a confirmation message informing you that your plan has been changed.
