How do I fix problems with my web forwarding?

This article will help you to change a redirect that you have set up from your domain name.

Changing your redirect will allow you to change the destination of your forwarder, meaning that you can change the website that your domain name directs to.

Here are a few tests you should try before contacting 123 Reg’s Support team with web forwarding problems.

Step 1 of 6

Firstly, make sure the website you are forwarding to is working. If it isn’t, check out the following article to find out why: Why is my website not working?

Step 2 of 6

If you have just initiated the web forwarding, please allow a couple of hours for the update to take place.

Step 3 of 6

Check that your domain name is pointing to the correct IP address in the DNS settings.

Step 4 of 6

Check your domain is pointed to the 123 Reg nameservers. You can also do this by looking up the name on https://who.is/.

Step 5 of 6

Check that the URL is correctly entered in your web forwarding configuration settings in your 123 Reg Control Panel.

Step 6 of 6

If the forwarding has stopped suddenly, make sure that your domain name has not expired in the 123 Reg Control Panel.

If none of these tests provide a solution, please contact our Support team.
