How do I turn off Domain Ownership Protection (‘DOP’) for my domains?
Please note: the steps outlined in this guide will NOT cancel your DOP package. To do this, please read our Support article: How do I cancel or change my 123 Reg services?
Log in to your 123 Reg control panel.
Scroll down to the Domain names section and click Manage Domain Ownership Protection, just below the Domain name overview link.
The Manage Domain Ownership Protection page will show a list of domain names registered within this account, along with the status of the DOP for each domain.
The DOP can be turned off from the Options drop-down list.
Once you click the Turn Off button, enter the unique DOP password that was provided when the package was activated.
Please note: If the DOP password has to be reset, you will be required to confirm your identity to 123 Reg as part of a manual process which could take up to 14 days to complete.
Resetting the DOP password
In order to reset the password for the Domain Ownership service, please download a unique PDF form from your Control Panel -> Domain Ownership Protection -> from the drop-down menu select Reset Password.
The details required to fill the form can be received by following the steps here.
Once the form is filled, please send it to our Documents team via email, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note: The reset email is sent to the registrant address of the domain name, therefore, please make sure that you have access to it.
