Why is my .eu domain name in quarantine?

This FAQ will explain why your .EU Domain Name is in quarentine

When domains are placed into quarentine it means that they have expired, so any products or services attached to them will no longer work.

Your domain name is in quarantine because it was not renewed before the expiry date and as such has been deleted. Expired .eu domain names are put into quarantine for 40 days. During the quarantine period, websites or email address attached to the names no longer work. Once the quarantine period has passed, the domain names are released onto the open market and can be registered by anyone on a first-come-first-served basis.

Please note: Domains will go into quarantine on the day of expiry.

The cost for your domain name to be recovered from quarantine is £75 plus vat and a year's renewal fee. If you wish to recover your domain name, you will need to ensure that you have valid credit card details stored on your 123 Reg account. To do this, login to your 123 Reg control panel, scroll down to the “Manage your 123 Reg account” section and click on the “Update credit card details” link.

Once you have ensured that you have valid credit card details stored on your 123 Reg account, please contact the 123 Reg support team using the “Ask a question” tab and state your desire to have your domain name removed from quarantine.

Please be aware that it takes 3-5 working days to recover a domain name from quarantine.
