How can I tell whether I have a Generation 1 or Generation 2 mailbox?
This article will explain how you can tell whether you own a Generation 1 or Generation 2 mailbox.
If you’re not sure whether you have a Generation 1 or Generation 2 mailbox, here’s the quickest and easiest way of finding out:
From there, select Email within the Manage Active Products section. You may now be presented with two different options: Manage your email (Generation 2) and Manage your email (Generation 1). Simply click Manage opposite your preferred option to access its management page.
If, however, you only have one option, this means that you only have one of these mailbox types. In any case, select Manage opposite ‘Manage your email’ to continue.
This will take you to the ‘Manage your email’ page, where you’ll see all the mailboxes you’ve set up.
On the Generation 1 management page, you’ll be able to manage virtually every aspect of your mailboxes, including their settings and billing options, by selecting the ‘Options’ tab and choosing the relevant option from the provided drop-down menu. You can also manage any forwarders you’ve set up from this page.
On the Generation 2 management page however, you’ll only be able to change your billing options for your mailboxes. If you wish to change your settings or access any forwarders, you will need to select the ‘Manage mailboxes’ button.
