Upgrading POP3 to new Mailboxes
This FAQ will help you to convert your old style POP3 email to one of our newer, modern style mailboxes
To ensure that you have the best possible email service, we recommend that any of our customers using these older style mailboxes upgrade to one of our new style mailboxes by following the instructions below.
These instructions are split into 3 sections:
Step 1: Backing up your email contacts
Login to your 123 Reg webmail account.
In the Address Book window, right click on the Global Address Book sub header, then from the menu, select Export.
Choose the type of folder to download – either a CSV or vCard. We recommend using CSV. Then click Export.
Your contacts will now be exported and saved to your hard drive.
Step 2: Upgrading your Pophost to a Mailbox
You can now proceed to upgrading your existing POP3 box to one of our new Mailboxes.
Login to your 123 Reg control panel and scroll down to the Email section and click on the Manage Email option.
Find the mailbox that you wish to upgrade from your email list.
Click on the Upgrade your Pophost to a Mailbox link.
Your log on username will be changed to your email address. You can use this username to log in on our Webmail Service; http://webmail.123-reg.co.uk/index.php or you can use these settings to add a mail account in your mail client such as Outlook, or Mozilla Thunderbird.
Please Note: If no forwarding exists for the pophost mailbox that you wish to upgrade you will need to recreate the forwarding with the name you would like the upgraded pophost mailbox to have, in the "Forward to" field add the popbox address that you wish to upgrade.
