How can I check the database details on my Hosting package?

This article will help you to check your database details on your 123 Reg hosting package.

The database hostname indicates the physical location of your database. You will need your database hostname in order to install applications such as WordPress or Joomla.

Web Hosting plans purchased after July 2020 / Premium Hosting plans purchased after August 2020 (cPanel)

Start by accessing your Web Hosting dashboard.

From there, click cPanel Admin.

Next, click MySQL Databases within the Databases section.

From here, you can see all the databases you’ve set up.

If, however, you can’t see your databases’ details here, return to your dashboard and click File Manager opposite your Primary Domain.

Next, find and select your wp-config.php file and then click Edit in the toolbar.

Click Edit within the pop-up window that appears.

You will now see the hostname, username and password for your database within the ** MySQL Settings ** section.

Web Hosting plans purchased before July 2020 / Premium Hosting plans purchased before August 2020

The hostnames are to connect to your databases on your 123 Reg hosting package.

The database name is the name displayed when you click on the Manage databases option in your Web Tools menu via your 123 Reg Control Panel.

The username is the database username that was provided on screen when you first created the database.

The password is the database password that was provided on screen when you first created the database unless you have since reset it via your 123 Reg control panel.

Start by logging in to your legacy Control Panel. For details on how to do this, please read the following article: How do I access and manage my products?

From there, select Web Hosting or Premium Hosting within the ‘Manage active products’ section, depending on which product you wish to use.

Next, select Manage opposite the ‘(bought before XX/XX/XX)’ option.

This will show you an overview of your current hosting packages. Click Manage for the account you wish to use.

Scroll down to the domain names you have on your hosting package, and then click the Manage button for the website that you wish to add your 123 Reg app to.

Login to your 123 Reg hosting control panel. Then scroll down to the Web Tools section and select the MySQL databases option.

  • Here you will be able to see the databases you have set up under the Manage MySQL databases section.You host name will be shown in the Server column, with your username in the column to the right.

 

Please note:The database name will not be the same as the name you entered when you set up the database, as our system will alter it slightly, and will be the same as the database username.

 

If you wish to change your password, simply enter the new password you wish to use in the password field, and then click on the Modify button.
