How do I add an SVG icon to WordPress?

This article will show you how to upload an SVG image in WordPress.

SVGs, or Scalable Vector Graphics, are a special type of image format that are used to create high-quality images that can be changed to any size without any loss in quality. As such, many brands use SVG files for their logo, so that it will always appear at a high resolution.

However, since you can’t add these files by default, you’ll need to install a plugin to allow WordPress to upload SVGs. To do so, simply follow the instructions outlined below:

Step 1 of 3

Start by installing and activating the plugin SVG Support or Safe SVG.

The main difference between these two is that SVG Support offers additional configurable options for WordPress SVG files.

Step 2 of 3

Once you’ve installed either of these SVG plugins, you’ll be able to upload your SVG files using the Add New option within Media on the left-hand menu.
