How do I export a MySQL database?
This FAQ will help you to export your database from your Hosting package.
The below step by step instructions will help you to export your database from your 123 Reg Hosting package.
The following steps apply to Web Hosting plans purchased after July 2020 and Premium Hosting plans purchased after August 2020:
Start by logging in to your Control Panel and scroll down to ‘Web Hosting’. From there, select Manage.
On the next page, select Manage for the account you wish to use.
Select the three-dot icon for the package you want to edit. From there, choose Settings from the drop-down menu that appears.
On your dashboard, select the option phpMyAdmin from the navbar.
Select your database in the top left-hand corner.
Once done, click the Export tab in the navbar.
If you only want to export specific tables, select Custom – display all possible options under ‘Export method’ and choose the tables in the database you would like to export.
Whichever option you choose, ensure that the SQL format is selected.
Now click on the Go button. You’ll then be asked to open or save your file.
Your database will start to download in your Web Browser.

Log into 123 Reg control panel.
To begin, log into your 123 Reg control panel.
In the Web Hosting section, select the hosting package and click on the manage button.
Ok, now click on MySQL Databases.
You will now need to log into the database that you wish to export.
This will open up pHpMyAdmin.
Click on the database you wish to export and then click on the Export button.
Just here you will see all of the tables in the database, if you wish to export all of them, just ensure they are all highlighted.
Make sure that the SQL option is selected.
Now click on the Go button.
Once your database is exported you will see it in your web browser.
You can now save it somewhere on your computer, maybe in a back-up folder if you are creating it as a back-up copy.
That’s it; your database has been exported.
Please note that databases are not automatically backed-up on your web hosting package, so it’s a good idea to regularly export and back it up.
Scroll down to the Web hosting section.
Select your domain name using the drop-down menu and then click on the Manage button.
In the Web Tools section, click on MySQL Databases.
In the Manage MySQL Databases section, enter the password for the database you wish to export and then click on Manage.
This will open up phpMyAdmin.
Click on your database in the top left hand corner.
Now click on the Export tab.
You can now choose the tables in the database you would like to export.
Ensure that the MySQL button is selected.
Now click on the Go button.
Your database will start to download in your Web Browser.
