How do I import a MySQL database?

This FAQ will help you to import your database onto your Web hosting package.

The below video and step by step instructions will help you to import an existing database you own onto your 123 Reg hosting package.

Log in to your 123 Reg control panel

Scroll down to the Web hosting section.

Select your domain name using the drop-down menu and then click on the Manage button.

In the Web Tools section, click on MySQL Databases.

If you haven’t already, you will need to create a new database, just choose a username and password and click on the Create button.

Please note: Your username should be 9 characters or less and can only contain letters, numbers and these characters: "_" and "-". It should not contain the words "test", "root", "mysql" nor "alive".

This will open up phpMyAdmin.

Click on your database in the top left hand corner.

Now click on the Import tab.

You can now choose the database you wish to import.

Ensure that the SQL option is selected.

Now click the Go button.

You will now see a message stating that the Import was successful.
