How do I remove duplicate featured images?

This article will explain how you can remove any duplicate featured images.

When configured incorrectly, WordPress can have duplicated featured images in your posts or pages. Here’s how to resolve this issue:

Start by accessing your Managed WordPress dashboard. For details on how to do this, please read our Support article: How do I access my Managed WordPress dashboard?

From there, select Pages or Posts from the left-hand menu.

Hover your cursor under the page or post you wish to amend and click Edit.

On the next page, find and select the duplicate image you wish to remove. From there, select Media Library that appears below it.

From the pop-up window that appears, select Edit gallery in the left-hand menu.

Find and select the duplicate image and then click Delete permanently within the Attachment Details menu on the right-hand side.

Once done, review your original page or post to confirm that the duplicate featured image has been removed.
