How do I remove or disable comments?
This article will explain how you can remove and disable comments from your WordPress site.
Start by accessing your Managed WordPress dashboard. For details on how to do this, please read our Support article: How do I access my Managed WordPress dashboard?
From there, select Comments from the left-hand menu.
Filter the comments accordingly based on their publication status. From there, you can delete them individually or in bulk by ticking each comment you wish to get rid of and selecting Move to Trash from the Bulk Actions drop-down menu.
Be sure to click Apply afterwards to confirm your choice.
You can also find more comments options by selecting Settings on the left-hand menu, followed by Discussion.
If you wish to remove comments on old posts, check the box next to the sentence Automatically close comments on articles older than XX days under the Other comment settings section. Be sure to change the Day setting to the number you prefer as well.
If you wish to specify exactly who can or cannot leave comments, check or uncheck the following sentences under the Other comment settings section: Comment author must fill out name and email as well as Users must be registered and logged in to comment
If you’d rather disable comments completely, uncheck the box next to the sentence Allow people to post comments on new posts that’s part of the Default post settings section.
Once done, scroll to the bottom of the page and select Save Changes.
