How to block an IP address
This article will help you to block an IP address from accessing your server
There are many reasons to block an IP address from accessing your sever. Most are security reasons, for example, to prevent Site Scrapers and Spammers. Otherwise, they might just be for personal reasons; for example, you may run a forum with an annoying member – blocking their account wouldn’t stop them from signing up with a different email address; blocking their IP address would mean they couldn’t access your site at all from their machine.
The following steps apply to Web Hosting plans purchased after July 2020 and Premium Hosting plans purchased after August 2020 (cPanel):
On your dashboard, select the cPanel Admin button that appears above Settings.
Select IP Blocker under the Security section.
Enter the IP address you wish to block in the Add an IP or Range field.
Once done, click Add.
The following steps apply to Web Hosting plans purchased before July 2020 and Premium Hosting plans purchased before August 2020:
From there, select Web Hosting or Premium Hosting within the ‘Manage active products’ section, depending on which product you wish to use.
Next, select Manage opposite the ‘(bought before XX/XX/XX)’ option.
This will show you an overview of your current hosting packages. Click Manage for the account you wish to use.
On the next page, select Manage for the domain you wish to update.
Click on the IP Address Blocking option in the Web Tools section.
Enter the IP address you wish to block into the Configure IP blocking field and click on the Create button.
