Where is my website's root directory in my Hosting account?
Your website’s root directory contains all the content that is displayed when visitors enter your domain name into their web browser. For example, your index file must be present within your website’s root directory so that visitors can access your site.
The root directory for your primary domain name’s website is /public_html.
To find the root directory for your addon domain or subdomain names, you’ll need to follow the instructions listed below.
Please note: this process applies to our Web Hosting and Premium Hosting products.
Start by logging in to your Control Panel and scroll down to ‘Web Hosting’. From there, select Manage.
On the next page, select Manage for the account you wish to use.
Select the three-dot icon for the package you want to restart. From there, choose Settings from the drop-down menu that appears.
On your dashboard, select the cPanel Admin button that appears above Settings.
Choose the option Subdomains or Addon Domains under the Domains section.
The root directory will be displayed below Document Root in the Modify Addon Domain or Modify a Subdomain section.
