How do I manage my competitors?

This FAQ will help you to manage your listed competitors in your Search Engine Optimiser package.

Competitors are the sites you choose for us to measure your performance against. It is best to choose competitors from the same business category as you, or ones that share a lot of common keywords with you.

Please note: this article only applies to Search Engine Optimiser packages purchased before May 2021. For packages purchased after May 2021, please read the following article: How do I manage my competitors within Digital Marketing Suite?

Click on the Settings button in the top right hand corner of the Search Engine Optimiser, then select Edit Competitors from the drop down menu.

This will take you to the Manage Competitors page, allowing you to add and remove your competitors. To add new competitors you can either enter the domain name you wish to use into the text box at the top of the page, and then click the Add Competitor button; or you can simply add one of our suggested competitors from the Suggestion Competitors list by clicking on the + icon.

The list of suggested competitors is ordered by the number of common keywords you share, so this is a great place to start if you are unsure as to which competitors to use.

  • You can also remove your competitors from the My Competitors list by clicking on the X button next to the domain you wish to remove.

Please note: You can see the number of competitors you have selected, and the number of competitors you are allowed at the bottom of the My Competitors list. You can not have more competitors than your package level will allow, however you can get a higher competitor allowance by upgrading to a different package level.
