How do I change the default renewal method within my 123 Reg account?
This article will explain how to change your primary and backup renewal method.
If you wish to change your default renewal method from a debit/credit card to PayPal (or vice versa), simply follow the instructions outlined below.
Please note: if you have registered Direct Debit on your account, this will be your default renewal method, due to the nature of this option and the time taken to process. This cannot be amended so you will need to cancel this payment option if you wish to use a different renewal method. Start by accessing your Account Management settings. To do this, follow the instructions outlined in this guide: How do I access my Account Management settings?
From there, select Payment Methods in the toolbar.
On the next page, choose View payment settings.
You will now be taken to the Payment Settings page.
From here, you can set your default renewal method by selecting Options for your desired payment type and then choosing Set as Primary renewal method from the drop-down menu.
You can also set which payment method will be your reserve renewal method by choosing Set as ‘Backup renewal method’ from the provided menu.
Alternatively, you can set which payment method will be your default payment option during the checkout process by selecting Set as ‘Manual payment method’ from the provided menu.
