I have received an email from Smart Debit – what does it mean?

Smart Debit is the direct debit partner used by 123 Reg and multiple other companies to handle all direct debit transactions.

This means that you’ll occasionally get an email from Smart Debit on behalf of 123 Reg with information about your account and payments. Below is a list of the different types of emails you may receive and why you are receiving them:

Direct Debit Setup CompleteUpon completion of new direct debit set up.
Direct Debit AmendmentUpon the amendment of an existing direct debit. Please note that an amendment only applies if the bank account details remain the same. If bank account details are changed it is a cancellation of the existing instruction and set up of a new one.
Direct Debit CancellationWhen an existing direct debit instruction is cancelled. Please note – If a customer with an existing DD, sets up a new instruction the existing one will automatically cancel, triggering this email.
Direct Debit ReinstatementWhen a previously cancelled direct debit is reinstated.
Advance notice of a collection against your Direct Debit5 working days prior to a direct debit being collected from a customer.
