Self Diagnosis Alert – MX Records

Thank you for using the 123 Reg Self Diagnosis Tool!

We have detected a possible issue with your domain name configuration, as your domain name does not appear to be using our MX records.

This can be rectified by following the instructions below:

Start by logging in to your legacy 123 Reg Control Panel.

Step 2 of 7

Next, select Manage All opposite Domains within the ‘All Products and Services’ section.

Step 3 of 7

You will now see a complete list of your purchased domain names. Select which one you wish to update from the provided list by clicking the checkbox next to it.

If you can’t find your domain in this list, you may be able to find it on the Domain Name Overview page within our legacy Control Panel. For more details on this, please read the following article: How do I access and manage my products?

If you’re using our current Control Panel, select DNS in the toolbar.

If you’re using our legacy Control Panel, select Manage DNS within the Advanced Domain Settings section.

If you’re using our current Control Panel, click the edit icon (represented as a pencil) opposite your MX record.

If you’re using our legacy Control Panel, click Change within the ‘Email Settings (MX Records)’ section.

If you’re using our current Control Panel, make the necessary changes to your MX record and then click Save.

If you’re using our legacy Control Panel, select 123-reg email from the drop-down list and then click Point to service.

Step 7 of 7

If you’re using our current Control Panel, your changes will be saved.

If you’re using our legacy Control Panel, a pop-up window will appear asking you to confirm your choice. Click Confirm to complete the change.

Please note: it will take between 24 – 48 hours for your new MX records to become active.
