What are 123 Reg’s new payment requirements?
This article will explain what our improved authentication system offers and how it may be affecting your product renewals.
When it comes to paying for your products and services, your security is always our top priority. That’s why we’ve upgraded our payment security protocols from 3D Secure to 3D Secure 2 (3DS2).
As part of this upgrade, you may now be redirected to your bank during the checkout process and asked to complete an additional verification step. This can be done through a number of methods, such as via your mobile banking app or via a one-time password that’s sent to your phone.
Important: if any of your auto-renewal payments have failed, you can resolve this issue by manually renewing your product via your 123 Reg Control Panel.
The reason for this is because your issuing bank is increasingly likely to reject payments for renewals if the original product purchase has not met the latest 3DS standards. This is most common in transactions that have been made before 14th March 2022.
After you’ve completed this one-off manual payment, your auto-renewals should be processed as per usual.
You can find out when you last made a purchase by checking your invoices. If you’re not sure how to do this or how to manually renew a product, please read the following guides:
