Changing your mySQL database password

This article applies to Linux Dedicated Servers.

This article explains how to reset a mySQL database password within the hosting control panel.

Start by logging in to your 123 Reg Control Panel.

From there, select Dedicated Servers within the ‘Manage active products’ section and then select Manage opposite Manage Dedicated Servers.

You will now be taken to a new page displaying all your purchased packages. From here, click Login to Server CP.

Enter your login details into the provided fields and click Login.

Click on the Accounts tab.

Click on the edit link next to the desired account.

Click on the mySQL link.

Click on the Change mySQL Password link.

The resulting page contains text fields in which to enter the password you wish to configure to secure the database.

Enter your preferred password into both fields and click on the Change mySQL Password button.

Important: You must ensure when updating your mySQL password that any applications which access the database, such as a PHP script on your website, have also been configured with the new password.
