How can I set up a Reverse DNS record on my VPS server?

This article will explain how you can setup a reverse DNS record for your VPS server.

Since this process differs depending on which version of our Virtual Private Server you have, please select your version from the list below and follow the provided steps to get started.

Current Generation

Step 1 of 5

Start by logging in to your 123 Reg Control Panel.

Step 2 of 5

Next, select Servers within the ‘All Products and Services’ section.

Find the VPS wish to rebuild and click Manage opposite it.

You will now be taken to your dashboard. From here, click Manage opposite IP Address within the Settings section.

On the next page, enter the domain name you want to use into the DNS record field and click Update.

Please note: it can take between 24-48 hours for these changes to take effect.

Previous Generation

From there, select Virtual Private Servers (VPS) within the ‘Manage active products’ section and then select Manage opposite Manage Virtual Private Servers (VPS).

Click on the IP tab.

Click on the Edit next to the IP address.

Select a domain from your account or tick ‘Other Domain’ and enter the domain of your choosing.

After the domain is selected, click on Assign Domain.
