How do I enable root or admin access to my VPS?

This article will show you how to enable root or admin access on your Virtual Private Server.

Before you can perform any important actions on your VPS, you will need to enable admin access. For details on how to do this, please follow the instructions outlined below.

Please note: the following article was originally created for our current generation of Virtual Private Servers. As such, these instructions may not be relevant to our previous generation of Virtual Private Servers.

Next, select Servers within the ‘All Products and Services’ section.

Find the VPS wish to rebuild and click Manage opposite it.

You will now be taken to your dashboard. From here, click Settings.

On the next page, select Manage opposite Admin Access.

Click the toggle opposite Enable Admin Access (root account sudo access) to activate it and then click Save to confirm your changes.
