How do I install WordPress on my VPS running WHM or cPanel

This article will show you how to install WordPress on your 123-reg.co.uk VPS.

Please note: this article was originally created for our previous generation of Virtual Private Servers. As such, these instructions may not be relevant to our current generation of Virtual Private Servers.

Log in to your cPanel account https://<IP Address>:2087/. Changing <IP Address> to the IP address of your VPS.

Click in the search field on the left toolbar and type WordPress Toolkit.

Click the Install or Install WordPress button to bring up the install configuration window.

Configure the WordPress options such as folder, username, password, database name, email, etc. Then click Install.

Tip: WordPress will be installed into the directory selected in the “Installation path, if you wish to install WordPress to the root leave the box after your domain name empty.

When the process is complete, you will see the installation in the WordPress Toolkit Overview from where you can manage it.

Don’t forget to point your domain to the VPS IP address!
