How to patch your server

This article will show you how to patch your Virtual Private Server.

We recommend that you patch your VPS on a monthly basis, as this will resolve any security vulnerabilities and minimise the chances of you falling victim to a malicious attack. Simply click the relevant title below and follow the provided instructions to get started:

AlmaLinux/CentOS/Fedora

Start by connecting to your server via SSH.

Next, you will need to switch to the root user.

From there, enter the following command:

yum clean all

yum update

Ubuntu

apt-get upgrade

Windows Server

Start by connecting to your server via Remote Desktop.

Select Settings within the Start menu.

Click Updates & Security, followed by Windows Update.

On the next page, click Check for Updates.
