Set up nameserver DNS with WebHost Manager (WHM)

This article will show you how to set up a nameserver DNS via WebHost Manager.

Please note: the following article was originally created for our current generation of Virtual Private Servers. As such, these instructions may not be relevant to our previous generation of Virtual Private Servers.

Step 1 of 7

Start by logging in to WHM.

Step 2 of 7

Select DNS Functions within the left-hand menu, followed by Edit DNS Zone.

Choose which domain you want to use from the provided list and then click Edit.

Step 4 of 7

On the next page, change the right-hand columns for the value NS to state ns1.your-domain.co.uk. and ns2.your-domain.co.uk.

Important: be sure to change your-domain.co.uk to your domain name and include the full stop at the end.

Step 5 of 7

Next, enter the following details into the first row:

  1. First field: ns1
  2. Second field: 14400
  3. Third field: A
  4. Fourth field: your IP address

Next, enter the following details into the second row:

  1. First field: ns2
  2. Second field: 14400
  3. Third field: A
  4. Fourth field: your IP address

 

Step 7 of 7

Once you’ve done this, click Save to confirm your changes.
