How do I add Google Analytics to my Website Builder website?

Adding analytics tracking code to your Website Builder website

This will show you how to add your Google Analytics tracking code to your Website Builder package. This allows you to use one of the world’s most popular, trusted analytics tools to monitor your website’s performance. You will need to create your own Google Analytics account to generate a tracking code.


Website Builder Version 8/Online Shop bought after October 2015

From the Settings menu, click on the Google Analytics option. This will open the Analytics panel where you can paste in your Google Analytics tracking code.

Website Builder Version 7

From the Menu bar on the right hand side of the page, click on the Manage button. This allows you access to all of the Administration tools for your website.

Use the Management menu on the left hand side of the screen to select the Analytics submenu. Here you can edit all of the Analytics settings for your website.

Enter your Google Analytics tracking ID into the Tracking ID Field. Don’t worry about entering a tracking script, as this is used when you don’t need a Tracking ID. Click Save to confirm your changes.

Click on the Manage button.

Click on the Google Analytics link from the menu bar on the left hand side of the page.

Enter the Google Analytics tracking code in the Tracking Code box provided. Then click on the Save button to confirm your changes.

Online Shop bought before October 2015

Click on the Marketing tab of the navigation bar, and select Google Adwords from the dropdown menu.

If you haven’t done so already, create a Google Analytics account.

Once your account is created, enter the Web-Property ID in the ID box.

You can find your tracking code through your Analytics account. Select the Accounts section, and choose Tracking Information from the Property column. Your tracking code will then display.

You will now need to add your Meta Tags to your eShop to verify that you own the site. To do this, you will need to sign into Google’s Web Master Tools. Once you have logged in, you need to add your site by entering the URL into box provided, and then click the Add A Site button.

You will now be given some verification options. Select the Alternate Methods tab, and then select HTML tag. This will display the Meta Tag you need to copy into your site. Copy this code and return to your eCommerce package.

From your eShop, click on the Add Meta Tag link.

Here, you can paste in the Meta Tag that you copied from Google earlier. Then press Save.

To complete the process, update your page cache by clicking the Page cache: Update now button at the top of the page.
