How do I make my Website Builder site look great?
This FAQ will help you to start designing your new website.
Here we cover how to put your own stamp on your new website, with some handy design tips to get you started.
For many, visiting your website will be the first encounter that they have with you or your business. First impressions are lasting, so make sure you make a great one!
To make a great first impression, the last thing you want is for a messy or poorly designed website. We’ve already spoken a little about website structure, but the aesthetics of the website are important too.
Think about how much time you spend on websites that are difficult to read, or that look horrible. Websites that look horrid are not going to get many repeat visitors.
With this in mind, you need to pick a colour scheme that fits your business and looks good, as well a font that is easy to read. Nail those two simple areas and you’ll be well on your way to having a great looking website.
Our mobile responsive templates are completely customisable, so you can use this to your advantage to style your website’s colour palette in line with your business’ colour scheme.
If you’re using your business’ colour schemes then make sure you use them wisely. Having all of the text in a bright, garish colour can make your site a little difficult to read, especially if it clashes with your background colour or image.
Spend some time playing with you colours and website background to find what works best for you. Try to find the right balance between using bright colours to highlight key areas of your site, allowing them to stand out, and making your site a melting pot of all different colours and styles.
You should also take into consideration the fact that you are running a site that works across desktop, tablet and mobile devices. With this in mind, you could also choose to hide certain elements on certain devices – for example, mobile sites run a lot slower when asked to download large images, and if the user isn’t on wifi, that can also cause them to use up a large amount of mobile data to view your site.
In this video, we’ll show you how you can make your Website look great using the design tools in your Website Builder package.
