How to change shipping methods for my Online Store
This article will show you how to customise your delivery and shipping options within Online Store.
Since this process differs depending on which version of Online Store you have, please select your version from the list below and follow the instructions provided to get started:
If you’re not sure which version of Online Store you have, you can find out by reading this article.
Start by logging in to your Online Store.
From there, click Website Builder in the top-left corner and select Dashboard from the list of options.
Select Settings in the toolbar and then choose Shipping.
You will now be given several types of delivery methods to choose from. To create an international shipping method, click Add Shipping. Alternatively, you can click Add opposite ‘Local Delivery’ and ‘In-Person Pickup’.
If you’ve gone for an international shipping option, you’ll need to choose which type of shipping rate you’d like to use by clicking Add opposite your preferred option. This includes:
- Free Shipping: offer free delivery should their order reach a specific total.
- Flat Rate / Percentage Per Order: charge a flat rate or percentage of the order in total, especially useful for if you sell items in bulk.
- Weight-Based: based on how much the order weighs.
If you’ve chosen a Local Delivery or In-Person Pickup instead, proceed to the next step.
On the next page, give your shipping method a name so that customers will know what to expect from this delivery method. You’ll also need to complete any other necessary fields that are relevant to your shipping method, such as ‘Offer free shipping once order total reaches’, ‘Weight’ or ‘Charge per order’.
You can also state which countries and regions you want to send products to. By default, this will be set to ‘All countries/regions’.
Once you’re happy with everything, click Save to confirm your shipping method.
From the store management panel, click on Shipping & Pickup – then ensure that you have also selected the Shipping & Pickup sub option.
You will see a Shipping & Delivery panel – click on the Add Shipping method button to create a new shipping method.
This will open the a shipping method creation wizard, that will take you through each step to create your shipping method. First, select the region you wish to ship to and choose the way you are going to calculate your shipping costs.
Now you can select the carrier for your new shipping method.
Once you have chosen your carrier, you can select which of your carrier’s shipping options you wish to offer to your customers. For example, if you are shipping food, you may wish to only offer 1-day delivery to ensure it gets to your customer quickly.
Next, select the account you wish to use with your chosen carrier. If you have your own account, you can use that – if not, there is a standard one you can use instead. You can also add a shipping markup, which is an additional fee for shipping that you can choose to add.
Finally, name your shipping method and click Save and Finish. The shipping method name is for internal use only, so you can name it something memorable that you don’t have to worry about your customers seeing.
