Change my domain Privacy level

Eligible domains registered with 123 Reg have Domain Privacy automatically applied to hide Registrant contact info. You can change the Domain Privacy setting for your domains to adjust how much info is shown on a public WHOIS directory. Contact info will be substituted with details from our Domain Privacy partner, Domains By Proxy®, when Domain Privacy is set to On.

  1. Go to your 123 Reg Domain Portfolio. You might be prompted to sign in.
  2. Select an individual domain to access the Domain Settings page.
  3. Select Change from the Domain Privacy card.
  4. Select your new Domain Privacy level.
    • On: Turn Domain Privacy on to hide all contact info for this domain and replace the info with substitute details from our privacy service provider, Domains by Proxy®.
    • Limited: Limited Domain Privacy will show some contact info for this domain, including the Registrant Organization, State and Country. No other contact details will be shown.
    • Off: Turn Domain Privacy off to show all contact info for this domain. These details will be publicly available and could be used for phishing or spam, even if you turn Domain Privacy back on.
    • Note: Registrant Organization is hidden by default, but you can choose to display it when adjusting Domain Privacy settings to Limited or Off. When shown, it becomes the Registered Name Holder per ICANN policy.
  5. Select Save.
    • Domains with Domain Protection require additional identity verification. If you've had 2-step verification (2SV) turned on for at least 24 hours, enter the code we sent via SMS, or enter the code from your authenticator app. Otherwise, enter the one-time password we sent to the email address on your 123 Reg account.

It can take up to 90 minutes for the changes to show in your account and a public WHOIS directory.
