How do I set up my email with Mircosoft Outlook?

This FAQ will help you to set up your email with Microsoft Outlook.

The below video and step by step instructions will help you learn how to add a mailbox in Microsoft Outlook.

Please note: You can use the below steps to set up any mailbox. You will however need to use your providers details when we mention ours.

Also, the below instructions can be followed across different versions of Microsoft Outlook. The below example shows the 2010 version.

Open Outlook and click on File then on the Add Account button.

Select the option Manually configure server settings or additional server types and then click on the Next button.

Select the option Internet E-mail and then click on the Next button.

Enter your name, and the email address you wish to add.

Choose between POP3 or IMAP from the drop down list.

Enter pop.123-reg.co.uk or imap.123-reg.co.uk as the incoming mail server

Enter smtp.123-reg.co.uk as the outgoing mail server.

Enter the email address you are adding as the username and the email address password as the password.

Select the option Remember password.

Click on the More Settings... button.

Select the Outgoing Server tab

Tick the option My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.

Now select the option Use same settings as my incoming mail server and then click the OK button.

Finally click on the Next button.

Outlook will now perform a test to make sure your inputed settings are correct.

Once this has completed click on the Close button.

Your email account has now been added, click on the Finish button to confirm.

That's it, you can now start sending and receiving email straight away.

How do I set up my email with Apple Mail?

This FAQ will help you to set up your mailbox with Apple Mail.

Open Apple Mail and click on Mail and then on the Add Account... option.

Select Add Other Mail Account... and click on the Continue button.

Once these details have been entered click on the Create button.

You will now see a message saying Account must be manually configured. This is meant to happen so click on the Next button.

Choose whether to use IMAP or POP.

Enter imap.123-reg.co.uk for IMAP or pop.123-reg.co.uk for POP.

Enter the username, which is the email address you are adding, and the email address password.

Now click on the Next button.

Please note: You may not see the next option during your set up, especially if you have added the email address in the past. Don't worry in most cases this will mean the settings are stored.

If you do need to make changes to the incoming port settings:

Click on Mail, then on Preferences. You can now select your account and click the advanced tab to amend the incoming port options.

Enter the port as 993 for IMAP or 995 for POP.

Check Use SSL and set the authentication type to Password.

Once these options have been set click the Next button.

Enter smtp.123-reg.co.uk as the SMTP server.

The username is your email address and the password is your email address password.

Now click on the Create button.

Please note: You may not see the next option during your set up, especially if you have added the email address in the past. Don't worry in most cases this will mean the settings are stored.

Start Mozilla Thunderbird and click on the Create a new account link in the local folders section.

Click on the Skip this and use my existing email button.

Enter your name, the email address you wish to add and the email address password.

Tick the Remember password option and then click on the Continue button.

Please note: Thunderbird will now attempt to set up your email. This will fail, but don't worry we will enter the settings manually now.

Enter imap.123-reg.co.uk or pop.123-reg.co.uk as the server hostname.

The port should be set to 993 for IMAP or 995 for POP3.

Now set the SSL to SSL/TLS and the Authentication to Normal password.

Now enter smtp.123-reg.co.uk as the outgoing server hostname.

Set the port to 465, the security type as SSL/TLS and the authentication as Normal password.

Enter your email address as the username.

Once you have entered these settings click on the Done button.

Login to your Outlook.com email account. Click on the Settings icon and then on the Options link.

Now click on the Add a send-and-receive account button.

Enter your name, the email address you wish to add and the email address password. Once entered click on the Advanced options link.

Enter pop.123-reg.co.uk as the server address and set the port to 995.

Check both the options and then enter the email address you are adding as the username and the email address password.

Select the option Send email using your provider's server.

Enter smtp.123-reg.co.uk and set the port to 465.

Check both the options and then click on the Next button.

You can now decide whether your email is integrated into your inbox or in a separate folder.

Once you have made a choice click no the Save button.

In the top right hand corner click on the Settings button and then click on Settings.

Click on the Account and Import tab and then the Add a POP3 mail account you own link

Enter the email address of the mailbox you wish to add. Then click on the Next Step button.

Enter the email address you wish to add as the username. Then input your email address password in the password field.

Tick the three options as shown below and then click on the Add Account button.

You can now retrieve your email through Gmail. To set up sending emails from your mailbox tick the Yes option and then click the Next Step button.

Enter smtp.123-reg.co.uk as the SMTP Server and set the Port to 465.

Input the email address you are adding as the username and the email address password as the password.

Tick the option Secured connection using SSL and the click on the Add Account button.

You will now be send a verification email. You can either click the link in the email or grab the verification code from the email and enter it here.
